Located in the heart of the Tees Valley, Bede Sixth Form College is thriving and continues to build on its success. We are proud to have recently achieved an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. As a leading provider of Further Education, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional teaching and support to our students, empowering them to reach their highest potential. Our innovative and destination driven Sixth Form offers a wide range of both A-level and vocational provision to the community.
Our teaching and learning strategy is research based and focused on cognitive science. We have invested significantly in professional development to ensure all of our teachers are evidence informed practitioners, continuously developing their own pedagogy to ensure the very best outcomes for our learners. Our teachers work alongside a team of Personal Progression Coordinators (PPCs) to ensure that our learners are supported holistically throughout their time at Bede.

Job role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Psychology to join our growing Social Sciences team at Bede Sixth Form College. We offer both A Level and BTEC Level 3 Psychology, and we’re looking for someone who can inspire and challenge students ensuring students maximise their potential. As a teacher at Bede Sixth Form College, you will be responsible for designing and delivering innovative and interactive lessons, providing high-quality support and feedback, and work closely with employers, universities and stakeholders to ensure we are preparing our learners to be industry-ready in a highly competitive field. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, professional, and a positive role model for both staff and students. They will be inspirational and have a keen interest in being an evidenced informed practitioner and staying up to date with new teaching and learning developments.
The successful candidate will hold a degree in a relevant discipline and a recognised teaching qualification. The ability to teach an additional Social Science subject would be desirable. We can offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work and develop within a supportive and motivated team committed to continuous improvement.
Schedule
We have a unique timetable at Bede Sixth Form designed with student and staff wellbeing in mind. Our lessons start from 10 am to 4 pm, and we deliver a maximum of two lessons a day.
