Job role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and forward-thinking Teacher of A Level Computer Science to join our thriving Sixth Form team.
At Bede Sixth Form, we are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative education that prepares students for success in a rapidly evolving digital world. As a Computer Science teacher, you will design and deliver engaging lessons, provide meaningful feedback, and support students to achieve their full potential. We work closely with employers, universities, and industry partners to ensure our learners are equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in competitive environments.
The ability to teach other subject areas would be desirable. Applications are welcome from candidates seeking either part-time or full-time positions. Role to begin January 2026 or earlier depending on completion of pre-employment checks.
Schedule
We have a unique timetable at Bede Sixth Form designed with student and staff wellbeing in mind. Our lessons start from 10 am to 4 pm, and we deliver a maximum of two lessons a day.

As a Lecturer in Counselling with Redcar and Cleveland College you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching in the Access to counselling programme. You will support and guide learners through their academic and personal development, contribute to curriculum design, and ensure all course materials meet current professional standards. The role involves engaging in quality assurance processes, maintaining strong industry links, and upholding ethical and safeguarding standards. You will collaborate closely with colleagues, participate in continuous professional development, and play an active role in promoting excellence within the department.
The ideal candidate will be a reflective and compassionate practitioner with strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to inspire and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds. You will demonstrate professionalism, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to ethical practice, along with excellent organisational and time management abilities. A collaborative approach, adaptability, and a passion for lifelong learning are essential, as is the ability to contribute positively to a supportive team culture and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.
Applicants should hold a recognised qualification in counselling at Level 5 or above (e.g. Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling), alongside current membership of a professional body such as the BACP or NCS. A teaching qualification (such as a PGCE, CertEd or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training) is desirable, though not essential, as support can be provided for those willing to work towards it.
Candidates should have recent and relevant experience of counselling practice, ideally within a therapeutic or educational setting, and a sound understanding of professional and ethical frameworks. Experience of teaching, training, or supporting adult learners is advantageous. The Creative team at SRC includes Level 2 to Level 4 programmes in Acting for Stage and Screen, Musical Theatre, Dance, Art and Design, Creative Makeup and Film and TV. As a Lecturer in Performing Arts with Etc. you will be responsible for the delivery of performing arts to a range of students, with a specialism in performance. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive sessions across a range of genres. In this role, you will prepare learners for assessments, performances, and examinations, as well as provide individual and group tuition tailored to meet different levels of ability. You will also contribute to curriculum planning, scheme of work development, and assessment strategies, ensuring that learners are challenged and supported to achieve their full potential.
We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can:
The successful candidate will ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent. They will have experience using digital learning tools and recording software, for example Logic, Pro Tools, or similar platforms, and will be confident in preparing learners for assessments, performances, or auditions. Industry experience as a performer or vocal coach would be highly beneficial. Experience of working with SEND learners would be an advantage.
